Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)

Life cycle assessment is a method used to assess the environmental impact of a product or service over its entire life cycle. This covers all stages from the procurement of raw materials to production, use and finally disposal. LCA helps you identify and reduce the environmental impact of your business, which improves responsibility and gives you competitive advantages.

Environmental declaration (EPD)

Environmental Product Declaration is a standardized document that reports the environmental effects of a product or service. EPD is based on life cycle assessment (LCA) and covers the entire life cycle of the product, from the procurement of raw materials to production, use and disposal. EPDs are important because they provide transparent and comparable information on environmental impact, helping companies and consumers make more sustainable choices.

Carbon footprint

A product's carbon footprint means the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions caused during its entire life cycle. This covers all stages from the procurement of raw materials to production, use and finally disposal.

The calculation of the carbon footprint is based on life cycle assessment (LCA) and often follows standards such as ISO 140672. The calculation takes into account, e.g. the raw materials used, energy consumption, transport distances and emissions during the product's lifetime.
